Membership

  • As DACB’s third year comes to a close, members can reflect on a successful year with an effective and representative executive committee, a marketing website that is making a tangible difference to member’s bookings, and an acknowledged voice for community buildings.

The Association will continue to support communities with the challenges and opportunities facing community buildings and village halls through its wide range of services:

    ·        5% discount on new insurance quotes with Norris and Fisher Insurance Brokers Ltd (5% of average hall insurance of £800 would cover the £40  DACB membership fee)

    ·        Energy discount scheme for Gas, electricity and phone-  details Tbc

    ·        Discounts on events, training and support on current developments, and potential issues facing your hall

    ·        A members’ website for community buildings and village halls to promote and market their facilities and activities.

    ·        E bulletin sent to members quarterly, updating members on key events and opportunities.

    ·         Information and advice for community buildings and village halls from experienced advisers.

    ·         Hallmark Quality Assurance scheme to develop and promote good practice

    ·         A voice to lobby local, regional and national government on the importance of community buildings

    ·         Affiliated membership of CCD and receive the quarterly Village Green newsletter

    ·         Honorary legal advisor  Shivaji Shiva  Head of Charity and Social Enterprise at Michelmores LLP

Given the adverse financial situation the Executive Committee have decided keep the main membership rate for smaller parishes to £40 for 2011-2012. This offers good value for money, especially considering the new financial rebates and discounts available.

To renew your membership please complete the application form and return with payment to DACB. I look forward to working with you over the coming year.
