Coping with Cuts

Delivering services for your community

14th July 2010, Bridestowe Village hall

The Conference will:

 Run from 10.15  -  2.30  at Bridestowe’s new village Hall  (see details of the hall here: Hall Details - Devon Village Halls)

  • Explore how community buildings might help support their communities with much needed services i.e. Libraries
  • Find out more about discounts and deals for DACB members
  • Celebrate this year’s Hallmark awards
  • Include Lunch and refreshments

  • Present the 09/10 annual report
  • Elect the Executive committee for 2010/11  -  If you are interested in getting involved do contact me

FUNDING FOR THE FUTURE

Your Route to Financial Security

Wednesday 16th September 2009

10.30am-3.30pm Teign Valley Community Hall, Teignbridge

This course will:

Enable you to identify the barriers to long term financial sustainability

Help you explore practical solutions to good financial planning and income generation

Allow you to identify how to diversify your funding streams (across donations, grants, service level agreements, contracts, trading and loans)

Provide an overview of effective financial management including full cost recovery

FUND IT, BUILD IT

An essential course for communities involved in capital works projects

Thursday 24th September 2009

10.30am - 3.30pm Beaford Villager Hall, Torridge

This course will:

Help you to explore external funding opportunities

Enable you to develop a capital investment plan

Check whether your project is investment ready and financially sustainable

Develop your skills for writing successful funding bids

Meet other funders and support agencies

Courses cost £20 per person for DACB members and £30 for non-members

Lunch and refreshments are provided

(events are subsidised by Devon County Council Funding)
